About the course
Booking info: 3 hours £60pp up to 6 per course
We have put together a fantastic early January workshop for children aged 10 – 14 years old. We’ll be making small planters out of pallet timber and planting them up with Spring bulbs with the brilliant Julia Parker of Parkers Patch. This course is designed to teach the children valuable practical skills (such as how to use a power drill and the basics in planting/growing bulbs) whilst having lots of fun and making a keepsake to take home with them which will bring a splash of colour and cheer to late Winter/early Spring.
It’ll include instruction on how to disassemble a pallet; sand, measure and prepare the timber and the basics in using a power drill independently to make their planters. The brilliant Julia Parker will join us for the final hour of the workshop to show the children how to plant and care for their bulbs to ensure a brilliant display in early Spring.
Our goal is to empower the next generation with hands-on knowledge and experience that they can apply to various areas of their lives whilst having fun and enjoying themselves.
“I had tackled some plumbing jobs in the past but did not have a great deal of confidence until I attended the How To plumbing course. It was very well structured and Dave explained all of the basics and some more. It was a mixture of teaching and doing…I successfully plumbed in a kitchen sink!! ”
“Incredible! I have learnt so much with Justin and the team. I feel confident to tackle the jobs and projects I’ve been putting off. Thank you!”
“I started with no prior experience of using a power drill and in just three hours, have, learnt the basic skills required to hang pictures and put up shelves.”
“The tutor was excellent and taught the class in manageable chunks, allowing us to consolidate our skills along the way. I would highly recommend this class and can’t wait to sign up for others!”
“I loved my time at How to Basically this morning. Dave was such a calm and reassuring tutor.
The lesson was the perfect balance between theory and practical and I really do feel more confident that when I get a drill in my hands, I can actually be useful!”
